LINK OF CINE-ASIA Seminar provides the latest film and video issues through in-depth discussions. This year's seminar, <Cooperation among Writers, Finding Solutions to New Growth> will be co-sponsored by Screenwriters Guild of Korea, and will discuss the need for mutual information exchanges among writers and the need to establish a global network as the importance of story contents is increasingly highlighted, including the advancement of local contents into foreign markets and the expansion of the possibility of international co-production. In addition, the seminar with Digital Bay on <Hyper-connected, a New Film Making Paradigm> looks forward on what changes and issues 5G will bring to film industry in the time of which the world’s first commercialization of 5G service and enlarged transformation of life through big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things became possible.

Cooperation among Writers, Finding Solutions to New Growth

Story content is becoming increasingly important as a foundation and core source of cultural industry, and the attraction of the story itself is having a tremendous impact on the success of the finished content. Corporate and government-level attention and support toward the storytelling industry continue in the United States, Europe, Asia, etc. It is expected that change in storytelling-related industries will be able to add new values through convergence and integration with various fields. In addition, discussions on the overseas expansion of local content and joint international production are growing, and need for mutual information exchange and global network building among screen and drama writers is also raised. In this seminar, we will examine the environment and status of scriptwriting by domestic and foreign writers, the system of developing scenarios and supporting writers by country, cases of overseas exchanges such as international co-production, and other related issues. Also, we will share ideas for improving problems and discuss ways to cooperate between regions and countries, based on our achievements and limitations.

Hyper-connected, a New Film Making Paradigm

The world’s first 5G service was commercialized in April 2019. The era of ultra-high-speed, ultra-connected, and ultra-low-latency has begun. It is predicted that 5G will make immense changes in a variety of fields beyond that of mobile phones. Many countries around the world are engaged in fierce competition for 5G technology and market dominance. What demands and changes are expected in the film industry for the 5G era? In this seminar, we will explore issues related to filmmaking linked to 5G technology, including OTT industry, transmedia, high-resolution digital production, special filming with Cinema Robotics, and focus on developments and efforts in the upcoming production environment.
